Cash£ields Credit Union is supervised by and registered with the Financial Services Authority in exactly the same way as any High Street bank. It covers the whole of the Ashfield area, including Linby, Papplewick and Newstead. Currently there are Collection Points in Hucknall, Kirkby and Stanton Hill, and in the near future should also be established in Sutton.

Members make savings, large or small, each week and after 12 weeks savers become eligible to take out a loan. Initial loans are limited to £300, dependant on shares held in the credit union, and loans are repaid along with savings over an agreed period.

Hopefully in the future further financial services will be offered to the community, but this all depends on the recruitment of more members and some of those members being willing to join those who currently manage the Credit Union.
